Servings: 2
Ingredients:
2 limes
2 tbsp. mint
4 tbsp. granulated white sugar
Ice
4 oz. white rum
10 oz. club soda
You need to start with a proper mojito glass: a Collins glass. If you don’t have a Collins glass, a highball will work as well.
Quarter your limes. You are going to use a whole lime in each cocktail. Take your 4 lime wedges and place them in the bottom of your glass.
Break mint leaves off the stem, equivalent to 1 tbsp. Add to glass. Add 2 heaping tbsp. sugar. Muddle ingredients in the glass until limes are fully juiced.
Fill the entire glass with ice. Add 2 oz. rum. Put cocktail shaker over your glass, and shake ingredients. Shake well, but don’t get crazy. Enough to break the mint leaves, but you don’t want them totally broken into tiny pieces. Empty contents into shaker.
Pour about 5 oz. club soda into your shaker, and poor the drink back into your glass. Garnish with mint and enjoy.
Notes:
You don’t need expensive rum to make a mojito. Bacardi Silver will do just fine.
