Servings: 6
Ingredients:
1 baguette
Olive oil or butter (for toast)
1 small jar fig preserves/jam
4 oz. burrata cheese
1/2 - 1 lb. prosciutto di parma; sliced paper thin
Truffle oil (optional)
Balsamic glaze
Slice your baguette into 1/4 thick slices. Coat with butter or olive oil (your choice) on each side. Place bread slices on baking sheet and broil on medium on top rack on both sides. These will toast quick-no more than a couple minutes! Make sure you have your oven light on and watch them, as they will burn easily. You want them golden brown and lightly toasted on both sides. Remove from oven.
Spread fig preserves on each piece of toast. Next layer, spread your burrata. Pull apart small pieces of the prosciutto and place clump them on top of the burrata. We like to drizzle some with truffle oil and some with balsamic glaze. Plate and serve!
Notes:
We love a sourdough baguette, but any baguette of your choice will work. If you purchase your prosciutto from a deli counter, ask them to slice it paper thin. This is always the best quality prosciutto, but you can certainly buy it packaged from the super market as well, it just won’t be as thin and tender as that from a deli or Italian market. We also love using fresh burrata. You might get crazy and even make your own!
