Servings: 5-6
Ingredients:
10 pieces bone-in chicken thighs & drumsticks with skin
BBQ sauce of your choice
Rinse chicken and pat dry. Add all chicken pieces to large bowl and cover in your favorite BBQ sauce. Cover with tin foil or plastic wrap and let marinade in the refrigerator at least 6 hours before grilling. You can also do this the night before.
Take your chicken out of the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before grilling; about 45 minutes to an hour prior. This will ensure even cooking.
Heat grill to 450-500 degrees. You want it very hot so your chicken doesn’t stick.
Place chicken pieces, skin up, on the grill. Cook for about 5 minutes and flip onto the sides with skin, an cook for another 5 minutes - about 10 minutes cooking time total. The skin should be charred and your chicken should be cooked through and very tender and juicy.
Plate and enjoy.
Notes:
We always suggest getting really high quality ingredients. You can certainly get your chicken from the local grocery store, but we always find the chicken from the butcher is much better.
Fight the urge to grill your chicken for longer than suggested - one of the most common mistakes with grilling chicken is overcooking. It doesn’t take long to get perfectly grilled chicken.
