from scratch is great, but let’s face it…we’re lazy.
Full Recipe Video:
Ingredients:
2 jars of red pasta sauce of your choice
Olive oil
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
Garlic powder to taste
Crushed red pepper
Salted Butter (about 1/4 stick)
Salt & pepper to taste
In a large frying pan, add olive oil. Just enough to coat the pan. Add minced garlic and brown on medium heat. Pour in your jarred sauce. Once warm, add salt, pepper, crushed red pepper, and garlic powder. We suggest adding a little of each at a time until the taste and spice is to your liking. Set heat to low and simmer for 15-20 mins.
Once your ready to use your sauce, add the butter and stir until fully melted into the sauce, about 2-3 minutes before serving.
You can use any red sauce of your choice. Our favorite is arrabbiata, as it’s spicy and acidic. See below for our favorite brands. If you are near any local Italian markets, they often have their own homemade sauces which are usually very good.
