Ingredients:

  • Granulated sugar (for rim)

  • 1 1/2 oz. cognac

  • 3/4 oz. cointreau

  • 3/4 oz. lemon juice, freshly squeezed

  • Orange twist, for garnish

Run an orange slice around the rim of your glass to wet it, and dip the edges in granulated sugar for a nice sugar rim (optional).

Fill a cocktail shaker with cognac, cointreau, and lemon juice. Add ice and shake until very cold.

Strain with a fine mesh strainer (or straight from your shaker) into a small cocktail glass (coupe). Garnish with an orange twist.

Notes:

The Sidecar is bright and flavorful - a perfect cocktail to make when oranges are in season.
